Want a new low-growing perennial that hummingbirds like? It does that too! This is a 3 year old plant in my “Hell strip.” The area between the sidewalk and the street where builders lay sod over construction waste.🤣 It’s hot and dry and prone to plant/lawn failure. Our ‘Mayla’ Water lilies look amazing this year! T Our ‘Mayla’ Water lilies look amazing this year! This lily was hybridized by Texas (and international) legend Dr. Kirk Strawn in 1993. We love ‘Mayla’ in full sun water gardens and she will even bloom in ponds with little direct sunlight!
