Fall 2025 Events:

MicroLife - Mega Impact
This Saturday, October 11th, at 10 a.m. Nessa Spence from MicroLife will be hosting a powerful garden seminar! She'll break down the not-so-hidden costs of synthetic fertilizers, how they weaken plants, invite pests, and leave your soil depleted. Discover a smarter, regenerative path forward using organic, biologically rich fertilizers (MicroLife!) that work with nature, not against it.
Healthy soil means thriving plants, fewer chemicals, better water retention, and a major win for the environment. Because what we do in our yards doesn't stay there, it flows downstream, impacting creeks, rivers, bays, and entire ecosystems.
Healthy soil = clean water. And it all starts with you!

Bog Container Gardening
September 13th, 10-11 am
Bog plants are some of the easiest and prettiest plants to grow! In this one-hour class, Steve will show how to successfully grow these beauties within the confines of a container garden. Discover the ideal soil mixes, proper watering techniques, and the best native and non-native bog plants that flourish in our harsh central Texas climate. Whether you're an experienced gardener or just starting out, this seminar will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to create your own beautiful and thriving container bog garden, bringing a touch of the wild wetlands to your patio or backyard.
Central Texas Permaculture
September 6th, 10-11 am
Are you interested in growing some of your own food, creating a food forest, and managing your landscape in a sustainable way? Then you might be interested in permaculture gardening: incorporating practices that let you treat your landscape like a functional ecosystem by building soil, using water intelligently, and planting in groups so that plants can benefit each other.
Unfortunately, many permaculture guides and resources are written by and for people growing in spaces with deep soil, significant rainfall, and temperate climates, which makes it challenging to apply them to Central Texas.
In this one-hour class, Meghan will take you through how to read your landscape, site your gardens, and work with your unique conditions using dry farming techniques, permaculture concepts, and smart plant choices. It’s edible gardening meets native plant nerdery! Join us with a notebook, your caffeinated beverage of choice, and your curiosity ready to go.
