Native to South America, this salvia has dark blue flowers with black calyces, making a striking effect in pots and mixed with lighter colored flowers. The flowers are also quite big, making it a favorite with pollinators. This plant is happiest with afternoon shade–those big, soft, dark green leaves can burn in the summer if they aren’t protected. Still, this is a beautiful, showy plant for a shady garden!
