Prunus caroliniana ‘Grecct’

– Native evergreen shrub from
thickets from East Texas to NC
– Glossy, dark green leaves
– Spires of white flowers in spring
– Excellent windbreak or lightly
pruned hedge

This small, evergreen, densely foliaged tree is ideal for those who need a taller evergreen screen quickly, such as to block the view of (or from) a neighbor’s two-story house. It’s also great for pollinators, great for birds, and not prone to the same disease issues as Red-Tip Photinia, the non-native plant most commonly used for this purpose in the 1980s and ’90s. We have them planted by the Pro Shop, if you’d like to see their dense evergreen foliage and tidy conical shape in action!
