Salvia longispicata x farinacea ‘Balsamisp’

– Deciduous perennial from Mexico
– Tall spires of indigo flowers
bloom repeatedly from spring to
fall when deadheaded
– Tolerates heat and humidity
– Mixes well with other flowers

We love this salvia! If you’ve walked by our butterfly garden and noticed a plant with big, soft looking leaves and gigantic dark blue flower spikes covered in big fat bumblebees, this was it. A hybrid between our native mealy blue sage and a perennial sage native to southwestern Mexico, this plant is super showy but still surprisingly heat and drought tolerant. A must-have for butterfly gardens, pollinator gardens, and cut flower gardens.
