Spend time with our in-house nursery specialists building a terrarium! Our specialists will help you understand how to properly layer soil substrate, design, plant, and plan maintenance routines based on the plants you selected. A small glass vessel is provided with the purchase of a workshop entry. We encourage you to bring your own terrarium (any clear glass or plastic vessel) for a personal touch.

Suggestions for picking your own terrarium vessel:

If you plan to grow carnivorous plants or moss we suggest having a closed to semi-closed terrarium to properly maintain humidity. Completely closed terrariums will need to be opened at least once a week. Semi-closed may require compensational misting. We do not recommend completely open terrariums for carnivorous plants. Terrariums with a narrow opening are not recommended for this class. They can be difficult to plant for beginners. Try to pick something large enough to move your hands in. Here is a list of common glass that can be used as a terrarium:

Cleaned jam or pickle jars
Wide flower vases
Old goldfish aquariums
Stemless wine glasses
Clear cookie jars

Goodwill typically has a great selection of affordable glassware.
