Heirloom Cemetery Iris (Iris x albicans) rhizomes Heirloom Cemetery Iris (Iris x albicans) rhizomes are available for a limited time! Fresh dug from our 25 year old collection. This sterile hybrid of unknown parentage may date back to the Persian Empire of the Middle East and Northern Africa. It made its way to Spain and then the Roman Empire. Roman Soldiers would carry these Iris to plant at the graves of their fallen as they made their way across Europe. Early American settlers brought the Cemetery Iris with them and today this Iris can be found across our country! The DNA of this clone is most likely over 2000 years old! Beyond heirloom!
