Passiflora incarnata x cincinnata ‘Incense’

– Deciduous vine with ornate flowers
– Fragrant, rich purple blooms from
late spring through early fall
– Larval host for many butterflies
– Very fast growing and heat tolerant
– We grow this on our fence!

Passionflowers have the coolest flowers, and this one’s deep purple hue and dramatic, light colored crown is one of our favorites! Fast growing, very hardy in our zone, and a host to gulf fritillary butterflies, so you can be sure to see lots of beautiful fritillaries fluttering around and cool, spiky, punk-rock caterpillars on these vines. Rest assured: even if caterpillars fully defoliate your vines, they will bounce back and look beautiful again in no time. This is the vine covering the fence next to our water lilies and bog plants!

Light: Full sun. Tolerates some shade.
