X Dark Violet Skullcap is a winner in our book! Re X Dark Violet Skullcap is a winner in our book! Reflected heat (120 degrees +/-) no problem! Don’t want to water, it doesn’t care. Want a new low-growing perennial that hummingbirds like? It does that too!

This is a 3 year old plant in my “Hell strip.” The area between the sidewalk and the street where builders lay sod over construction waste.🤣 It’s hot and dry and prone to plant/lawn failure. Dark Violet Skullcap loves these conditions, apparently!
Are you growing this one. Or the native Wright’s/ Shrubby Skullcap? What’s your experience?

-Nathan

Our ‘Mayla’ Water lilies look amazing this year! T Our ‘Mayla’ Water lilies look amazing this year! This lily was hybridized by Texas (and international) legend Dr. Kirk Strawn in 1993.
We love ‘Mayla’ in full sun water gardens and she will even bloom in ponds with little direct sunlight!
While many blue or white flowering Tropical Lilies put on a good show of flowers in shady ponds, ‘Mayla’ is the only pink flowering Hardy Lilies that will bloom in less than ideal light situations!
